Dr. Amy Youn is a native of the Detroit area. She received her undergraduate degree at Princeton University and returned home to attend medical school at Michigan State University-College of Human Medicine. She then moved to Grand Rapids where she completed her pediatric residency at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital, followed by an additional year as Pediatric Chief Resident. Her first year of practice was spent in California, where she worked at Children's Hospital Los Angeles as a pediatrician in the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology (lung disease). She then returned home to join Mali and Mali Pediatrics in 2004 and hasn't looked back.
Dr. Youn is married with two children. When she isn't working or being a mommy, she enjoys cooking, baking, and being outdoors. She is proud of running in the Detroit Marathon Relay this year as part of the Mali and Mali Pediatrics team, the "Mali Llamas", and hopes to train for a triathlon this year.
Dr. Youn's passion is being a pediatrician. She truly enjoys spending time with her patients and their families and watching them grow and develop. She sees herself as one member of a team to help parents raise happy and healthy children.
