Owner, Mali & Mali Pediatrics

With over 30 years of clinical experience, Dr. Vik Mali, known to his patients as "Dr. Vik", has become a cornerstone of pediatric excellence in Metro Detroit. His journey with Mali & Mali Pediatrics began in 1999 when he joined the practice founded by his father in 1976. Over the following decades, Dr. Vik’s leadership and vision transformed the practice into one of the premier, multi-provider pediatric centers in the region, defined by a steadfast commitment to a quality, patient-driven experience.

Education and Clinical Training

Dr. Mali’s clinical foundation is rooted in Michigan and national institutions. He began his academic journey at Kalamazoo College which led him to research opportunities at the National Institute of Health and the University of Michigan.

He received his medical degree from the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and completed his residency at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in affiliation with The Ohio State University, consistently ranked among the top pediatric programs in the country.

Medical Leadership: Formerly served as the Chief of Pediatrics at Troy Beaumont Hospital.

Governance: Currently holds a board position at United Physicians, one of the state's largest independent physician organizations.

Technology Advocate: As an early adopter of medical technology, he works closely with athenahealth to innovate Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, ensuring digital tools enhance the physician and patient experience.

On the Personal Side

Dr. Vik met his wife in medical school and they have two grown children who have both chosen careers in healthcare, one a physician and the other a dentist. In his spare time, you will find him hiking and biking in Northern Michigan or traveling with his family. A proud metro Detroiter, he loves cars and exploring downtown.
